About
Studio
Jean Designart is an interdisciplinary art, design & culture studio, founded and directed by Hyesoon Hermine Chang.
We believe cultural capital has the power to transform how people live across generations, and that it can be intentionally cultivated over time. With this belief, we help individuals and organizations build lasting cultural capital through art, design and culture. Our practice spans five interconnected areas—Art Advisory, Spatial Curation, Cultural Development, Exhibitions and Salon—each contributing to a shared mission of cultivating cultural value.
Since its founding in 2017, Jean Designart has continued to evolve and expand its practice. From 2021 to 2025, the studio operated independent exhibition spaces in Cheongdam, Seoul, presenting exhibitions and cultural programs across contemporary art and design. Alongside these activities, it developed a wide range of collection and spatial projects for private and corporate clients, while fostering close relationships with artists, collectors, organizations and the broader creative community. Together, these experiences and relationships have shaped the studio’s integrated practice today.
Our approach begins with understanding before creating. We believe the strongest outcomes emerge through strategic thinking, an interdisciplinary perspective and an unwavering commitment to integrity.

Founder & Director

Hyesoon Hermine Chang is the founder and director of Jean Designart, leading its interdisciplinary practice across art, design and culture.
She studied Economics at Seoul National University and began her career in global strategy consulting, where she worked for three years, followed by eight years at an investment firm. This background shaped her approach to strategic thinking, analysis and long-term value creation. Her longstanding engagement with art and design eventually led her to establish Jean Designart in 2017, bringing together her analytical background and cultural perspective.
Since founding Jean Designart, she has led projects for private collectors and corporations, from building collections and integrating art and design into spaces to developing cultural initiatives. Alongside her advisory and project work, she directed the studio’s independent exhibition spaces in Cheongdam, Seoul, presenting exhibitions and cultural programs across contemporary art and design. This experience deepened her curatorial practice and broadened her engagement with artists, collectors, organizations and the wider creative community.
Her perspective bridges business and culture, strategy and creativity. Today, she brings these different dimensions to Jean Designart’s interdisciplinary practice, approaching projects with an understanding of both their cultural significance and long-term value.
